अध्याय 18 
प्रवृत्तिं च निवृत्तिं च कार्याकार्ये भयाभये।
बन्धं मोक्षं च या वेत्ति बुद्धिः सा पार्थ सात्त्विकी।।30

अर्थ : किसी भयपूर्ण अथवा निर्भय मनःस्थिति में, -करने योग्य कर्म में प्रवृत्त होना या न होना, और / या उससे निवृत्त होना, तथा उस प्रवृत्ति अथवा निवृत्ति से जुड़े बंधन अथवा मुक्ति को जाननेवाली बुद्धि हे पार्थ ! सात्त्विकी होती है।

यया धर्ममधर्मं च कार्यं चाकार्यमेव च।
अयथावत्प्रजानाति बुद्धिः सा पार्थ राजसी।।31
--
अर्थ : जिस बुद्धि से क्या धर्म है, क्या अधर्म, क्या किया जाना उचित है, और क्या किया जाना अनुचित है, -इसे यथावत् नहीं जाना जाता, वह बुद्धि हे पार्थ ! राजसी होती है।

अधर्मं धर्ममिति या मन्यते तमसावृता।
सर्वार्थान्विपरीतांश्च बुद्धिः सा पार्थ तामसी।।32

अर्थ : जो बुद्धि अधर्म को धर्म मान्य कर बैठती है ऐसी अंधकाराच्छन्न बुद्धि, जो सभी तात्पर्यों को उनके वास्तविक अर्थ को विपरीत ग्रहण करती है, हे पार्थ ! तामसी होती है।

Religion in the Disguise of 'Dharma'

For whatever historical, political or intellectual reasons, the word 'Religion' has been treated as synonymous with 'Dharma'.
This has greatly harmed to the humans at the world-level.
Then we have to talk of religious disharmony, secularism and 'respect for all religions', 'tolerance' and 'intolerance'.
This has political implications and repercussions.
A Politically motivated mind is the one, that is described in the above-mentioned :
