Why Business Empires Crash / Collapse?
श्रीमद्भगवद्गीता / Shrimadbhagvadgita indirectly points out the reasons.
The word "Business" could be found to have been originated from the Sanskrit roots as a combination of two root words :
√विश् and √न्यस् respectively.
√विश् is used to denote "to enter", while the word √न्यस् (as in न्यास, विन्यास, संन्यास, पंन्यास) is used to mean "to invest", नि (उपसर्ग) / prefix + verb-root - √अस् to keep secure, safe, and in a good / healthy condition.
Again, the word "invest" could be traced to have roots in अनु-विश् meaning to enter kind of an activity.
There are words like "व्यवसाय" which could be split as "वि अव साय" The root word or the verb-root √सो -- साययति means "to annihilate, or "to completely destroy", while the उपसर्ग / prefix "अव" prefixed to √सो gives us the compound word "अवसाय", -meaning "to save, to protect from destruction", but implies "to prosper" / "to grow"; or to develop.
The उपसर्ग -prefix "वि" turns "अवसाय" into the word : "व्यवसाय" - that means development, growth and progress.
"Business" in this way is quite appropriate a translation of the word "व्यवसाय" that we find in the following shloka / verses --
Chapter 2/41, Chapter 2/44, Chapter 10/36, and Chapter 18/59 :
(अध्याय १८)
Maybe, shall elaborate in the next posts.
