 आज का श्लोक / 'हेतोः' / 'hetoH'

अध्याय 1, श्लोक 35,
--
एतान्न हन्तुमिच्छामि  घ्नतोsपि मधुसूदन ।
अपि त्रैलोक्यराज्यस्य हेतोः किं नु महीकृते  ॥
--
हेतोः > 'हेतु' = के लिए, के उद्देश्य से,
--
हे मधुसूदन, मैं इनके हाथों मारा भी जाऊँ, और इन्हें मारने पर यदि मुझे पूरी पृथ्वी ही क्या यदि त्रैलोक्य का राज्य भी मिलता हो तो भी इन्हें मारने की इच्छा मुझे नहीं है ।

etAnna hantumichchhAmi ghnato'pi madhusUdana |
api trailokyarAjyasya hetoH kiM nu mahI kRte ||
--
O madhusUdana! Neither for the Lordship of the whole Earth, nor even for the three worlds, I would like to kill them, even if they kill me.
