आज का श्लोक  / 'हृदयानि'/ 'hRdayAni'

अध्याय 1, श्लोक 19
--
स घोषो धार्तराष्ट्राणां  हृदयानि व्यदारयत्।
नभश्च पृथिवीं चैव तुमुलो व्यनुनादयन् ॥

हृदयानि  - हृदय (बहुवचन), हृदयों को।
भावार्थ :
युद्ध प्रारंभ करने के संकेत के लिए पांडव सेनानियों और श्रीकृष्ण द्वारा किए गए अनेक शंखों की तुमुल ध्वनि से धरती और आकाश हिल उठे और धृतराष्ट्रपुत्रों के हृदय दहल उठे।

Meaning : Hearts.

sa ghoSho dhArtarAShTrANAM
hRdayAni vyadAdarayat |
nabhashcha pRthivIM chaiva
tumulo vyanunAdayan ||

The tumultuous sound of the conches blown by shrikRShNa and by the army of the PaNDavAs, tore apart the heavens and the earth and rent the hearts of the sons of dhRtarAShTra.
