आज का श्लोक / 'हृषीकेश' /  'hRShIkesha'

अध्याय 11, श्लोक 36,
--
स्थाने हृषीकेश तव प्रकीर्त्या
जगत्प्रहृष्यत्यनुरज्यते  ।
रक्षांसि भीतानि दिशो द्रवन्ति
सर्वे नमस्यन्ति च सिद्धसंघाः  ॥
--
हृषीकेश  = हे हृषीकेश !
भावार्थ :
हे हृषीकेश  ! तुममें ही तुम्हारे ही भीतर, संपूर्ण जगत् तुम्हारी विशिष्ट कीर्ति के में प्रहर्षित होता है, तुममें ही खेलता रमता है । राक्षसगण भी डरकर भी तुममें ही अवस्थित विभिन्न दिशाओं में दौड़ते हैं  और सिद्धों के सभी संघ भी तुममें ही तुम्हें नमन करते हैं ।

अध्याय 18, श्लोक 1.
--
संन्यासस्य महाबाहो
तत्वमिच्छामि वेदितुम् ।
त्यागस्य च  हृषीकेश 
पृथक्केशिनिषूदन  ॥
--
हृषीकेश = हे हृषीकेश !
भावार्थ :
अर्जुन कहते हैं -
'हे हृषीकेश !  (हे कृष्ण !)  हे महाबाहो! संन्यास और त्याग, दोनों के स्वरूप का तत्व क्या है, इसे पृथक् पृथक् मैं तुमसे सुनना चाहता हूँ ।

Chapter 11, shlok 36.
sthAne hRShIkesha tava prakIrtyA
jagat-prahRShyatyanurajyate |
rakShAnsi bhItAni disho dravanti
sarve namasyanti cha siddhasanghAH ||

hRShIkesha > O Lord of the senses, O Consciousness Cosmic, O Krishna!

Meaning :
O Lord of the senses, Indeed the whole world rejoices and sports within you, only because of your glory. Demons frightened, run in all directions, and the sages and seers bow down before Thee!

Chapter 18, shloka 1.
sannyAsasya mahAbAho
tatvamichchhAmi vedituM |
tyAgasya cha hRShIkesha
pRthakkeshiniShUdana ||

hRShIkesha > O Lord KrishNa !
Meaning :
O Mighty-armed KrishNa! Please tell me the essence of sannyAsa and tyAga in their comparison and contrast !
(sannyAsa = Complete renunciation of sensory pleasures and abiding in the Self that comes through understanding their transient nature nd the nature of the brahman / Truth / Self, which is eternal peace and tranquility, bliss. tyAga = practicing of viveka and vairAgya.)
