आज का श्लोक / 'हृतज्ञानाः'/ 'hRtajnAnAH'

अध्याय 7, श्लोक 20,

कामैस्तैर्हृतज्ञानाः प्रपद्यन्तेsदेवताः ।
तं तं  नियमास्थाय प्रकृत्या नियताः स्वया ॥
--
कामनाओं से मोहित बुद्धि के कारण जिनका विवेकज्ञान नष्ट हो जाता है, वे परमात्मा को छोड़कर अन्य देवताओं की उपासना करने लगते हैं । और उनके लिए अनुकूल आराधना के विशिष्ट नियमों के पालन में संलग्न हो जाते हैं ।

'हृतज्ञानाः'/ 'hRtajnAnAH' : Those who have lost their wisdom because of being carried away by desires.

kAmaistairhRtajnAnAH
prapadyante'nyadevatAH |
taM taM niyamAsthAya
prakRtyA niyatAH swayA ||
--
Meaning : Because deluded by desires, their wisdom has left them and to fulfill the desires, they forget Me, and engage in worshiping other deities to propitiate them according to specific rules .
