आज का श्लोक, ’सुखदुःखे’ / 'sukhaduHkhe'

’सुखदुःखे’ / 'sukhaduHkhe' - सुख और दुख (में) दोनों को,
 
अध्याय 2, श्लोक 38,

सुखदुःखे समे कृत्वा लाभालाभौ जयाजयौ ।
ततो युद्धाय युज्यस्व नैवं पापमवाप्स्यसि ॥

(सुख-दुःखे समे कृत्वा लाभ-अलाभौ जय-अजयौ ।
ततः युद्धाय युज्यस्व न-एवं पापम्-अवाप्स्यसि ॥)

भावार्थ :
सुख अथवा दुःख को, लाभ अथवा हानि को, जीत अथवा हार को समान समझते हुए, तब युद्ध में संलग्न हो जाओ । और इस प्रकार से (युद्ध करते हुए, युद्ध तुम्हारे लिए) पाप नहीं होगा ।

Chapter 2, shloka 38,

sukhaduHkhe same kRtvA
lAbhAlAbhau jayAjayau |
tato yuddhAya yujyasva
naivaM pApamavApsyasi ||
--
Meaning :
Treat them alike and welcome whatever comes; the joy and grief, benefit and loss, victory and defeat, and then engage in the war. Done in this way, you shall not incur the sin.
