गीता मैं वर्ष 1968 से पढ़ता रहा हूँ । 

मुझे संस्कृत पढ़ने का शौक था, और गीता पढ़ने में यूँ ही मजा आता था । 

तब मैं कक्षा 9 उत्तीर्ण  था । फिर सोचा कि क्यों न गीता के श्लोकों का 'अर्थ' भी समझा जाए ।  

फिर मैंने श्लोकों को अपनी बुद्धि के अनुसार 'समझना' शुरू किया । 

फिर 'संस्कृत' को समझने की आवश्यकता अनुभव की तो धीरे धीरे संस्कृत का ज्ञान भी गीता से ही प्राप्त किया / हुआ । 

संस्कृत के उसी प्रारंभिक ज्ञान  से मुझे संस्कृत के व्याकरण का ज्ञान हुआ ।

"रामः रामौ रामः" एवं "पठति पठतः पठन्ति" से 'संज्ञा' और क्रियापदों का रूप कैसे बनता है, यह समझने के बाद मुझे बहुत मजा आने लगा। 
गीता पढ़ने में 'संधि' और 'समास' और श्लोक की छंद-रचना इतनी समझ में आ गई, कि गीता के हर श्लोक के हर शब्द का उस स्थान पर प्रयोग व्याकरण के अनुसार किस भूमिका में किया गया है, यह समझना आसान था ।
बाद के वर्षों में न जाने कितनी बार गीता को पढ़ा होगा, फिर उपनिषदों और कुछ अन्य ग्रंथों को भी इसी तरह पढ़ने समझने का यत्न किया ।
मुझे अनायास यह सूत्र समझ में आया, कि संस्कृत और गीता  पढ़ने / सीखने समझने का एक 'अनुशासन' है, जो अपने भीतर से ही आता है ।
बहुत दिनों से सोचता था कि गीता पर 'शब्दशः' लिखूँ । 
कुछ संयोग ऐसा बना कि एक दिन यह विचार साकार होकर इस ब्लॉग पर अवतरित हो उठा । 
आशा है ब्लॉग के प्रेक्षकों को इसमें कुछ पठनीय मिल सकेगा ।

I have been studying 'geetA' since 1968.
I loved to read Sanskrit, and reading 'geetA' was already a passion for me.
I had passed 9th class of my school. 
Then the idea of understanding the 'meaning' of 'geetA' came to my mind.
Then I started trying to 'understand' 'geetA' in my own way.
Then when I felt the need  of grasping / learning the elementary / essential Sanskrit of  'geetA', I acquired this 'knowledge of Sanskrit' too from 'geetA' Itself.
From this elementary knowledge of Sanskrit, I acquired the knowledge of the basic Sanskrit Grammar.
"रामः रामौ रामाः" "पठति पठतः पठन्ति"
"rAmaH rAmau rAmAH" and "paThati paThataH paThanti", 
helped me understand the form and structure of 'terms' /’पद’/ 'pada', of nouns (’संज्ञा’), ’gender (’लिङ्’), verb-roots (’धातु-रूप’), 'declensions' / conjugations (’विभक्ति’).
Studying 'geetA' I could now understand the formation / structure of compound-terms 'संधि' / 'समास' -the rules, and how to classify the same according to the purport of the text. It was so accurate and done precisely in 'geetA' and as a matter of fact in all other ancient Sanskrit texts also that I was always overjoyed by discovering this anew every time. I could instantly detect the grammatical nuances and the way how Sanskrit preserves the great 'communication' while elucidating the Great Truths of all times.
Afterwards, I went through UpaniShats and other Vedantika and Vedik-texts (Veda) and tried to grasp their essence.
I soon came to the firm conviction that 'Learning' Sanskrit and 'geetA' call for a 'discipline' of their own. And that 'aspiration' comes from the very core of your own very being.
An aspirant is one, who aspires for this kind of inspiration.

Always longed for writing about 'geetA' that is a 'word-to-word' explanation of this Great Text.
Something triggered this thought in my mind that took the form of this blog.
