आज का श्लोक / 'हस्तिनि'/ 'hastini'

अध्याय 5, श्लोक 18,
--
विद्याविनयसंपन्ने  ब्रह्मणे गवि हस्तिनि ।
शुनि चैव श्वपाके च पण्डिताः समदर्शिनः ॥
--
'हस्तिनि'/ 'hastini'  = हाथियों में ।
भावार्थ :
--
तत्ववेत्ता विद्याविनय से संपन्न ब्राह्मण में,  गौओं, हाथियों, श्वानों तथा श्वपचों (कुत्ते का मांस खानेवाले), सभी में समान रूप से विद्यमान उसी एकमेव चैतन्य परब्रह्म को देखते हैं ।

Meaning : Elephants. 
Chapter 5, shloka 18,
--
vidyAvinayasaMpanne
brAhmaNe gavi hastini |
shuni chaiva shvapAke cha
paNditAH samadarshinaH ||
--
A truly wise one who has known Reality /brahman' /'Self' sees the same in them all. In a learned well-behaved brAhmaNa, in a cow, elephant, dog and an outcast (who feeds on dogs).
