आज का श्लोक,  ’संज्ञार्थम्’ /  ’saṃjñārtham’,

’संज्ञार्थम्’ /  ’saṃjñārtham’, - जानने के लिए,

अध्याय  1, श्लोक 7,

अस्माकं तु विशिष्टा ये तान्निबोध द्विजोत्तम ।
नायका मम सैन्यस्य सञ्ज्ञार्थं तान्ब्रवीमि ते ॥

(अस्माकम् तु विशिष्टाः ये तान् निबोध द्विजोत्तम ।
नायकाः मम सैन्यस्य सञ्ज्ञार्थम् तान् ब्रवीमि ते ॥)

भावार्थ :
हे द्विजश्रेष्ठ! इस युद्ध में हमारे पक्ष में सम्मिलित हुए मेरी सेना के जो भी प्रधान (योद्धा) हैं, आपकी जानकारी के लिए अब मैं उनके बारे में आपसे कहूँगा ।

Chapter 1, śloka 7,

अध्याय  1, श्लोक 7,

asmākaṃ tu viśiṣṭā ye
tānnibodha dvijottama |
nāyakā mama sainyasya
sañjñārthaṃ tānbravīmi te ||
--
(asmākam tu viśiṣṭāḥ ye
tān nibodha dvijottama |
nāyakāḥ mama sainyasya
sañjñārtham tān bravīmi te ||)

Meaning :
O best among the dvija / twice-born! For your information, kind attention and consideration, I will now tell you the names of those distinguished generals of my army, who are ready for the battle on our side.

Note :
'dvija' means 'twice-born'. On one hand, this word is a synonym for birds that are born as eggs and then again as fledglings, while humans who though born as uninitiated are initiated afterwards and then 'become' dvija, an aspirant fit for learning veda and other scriptural knowledge after some vedik ritual ceremony.
