आज का श्लोक, ’स्त्रीषु’ / 'strIShu'

’स्त्रीषु’ / 'strIShu' - स्त्रियों में,
अध्याय 1, श्लोक 41,
--
अधर्माभिभवात्कृष्ण प्रदुष्यन्ति कुलस्त्रियः ।
स्त्रीषु दुष्टासु वार्ष्णेय जायते वर्णसङ्करः ॥

(अधर्म-अभिभवात् कृष्ण प्रदुष्यन्ति कुलस्त्रियः ।
स्त्रीषु दुष्टासु वार्ष्णेय जायते वर्णसङ्करः ॥)

भावार्थ :
अधर्म अर्थात् धर्मविरुद्ध आचरण के बढ़ जाने पर हे कृष्ण, कुल की स्त्रियाँ दूषित हो जाती हैं, और स्त्रियों के दूषित हो जाने पर हे वार्ष्णेय (कृष्ण), वर्णों में विकार उत्पन्न हो जाता है ।

adharmAbhibhavAtkRShNa
praduShyanti kulastriyaH |
strIShu duShTAsu vArShNeya
jAyate varNasaMkaraH ||

Meaning :
When the way of adharma is followed, and the society behaves in a way that is against *dharma,* the purity of women in the clan is lost. When the purity of women is lost, this leads to the mixing-up of castes.  

(*dharma*, -the natural tendencies one is born with, and practicing them in a way so as to derive the maximum and ultimate good for one and all. This '*dharma*' has foundation in 'sAnkhya', that means working out the right and wrong after careful enquiry and following only the right way of action.)
