आज का श्लोक ’सुविरूढमूलम्’ / 'suvirUDhamUlaM'

’सुविरूढमूलम्’ / 'suvirUDhamUlaM' - जिसकी जड़ें बहुत शक्तिशाली और एक दूसरे से गुँथी हुई हैं ।

अध्याय 15, श्लोक 3,

न रूपमस्येह तथोपलभ्यते
नान्तो न चादिर्न च सम्प्रतिष्ठा ।
अश्वत्थमेनं सुविरूढमूल-
मसङ्गशस्त्रेण दृढेन छित्त्वा ॥

(न रूपम् अस्य इह तथा-उपलभ्यते
न-अन्तः न च आदिः न च सम्प्रतिष्ठा ।
अश्वत्थम् एनम् सुविरूढमूलम्
असङ्गशस्त्रेण दृढेन छित्त्वा ॥)

भावार्थ :
यहाँ, इस जगत् में, न तो इसका वास्तविक स्वरूप, न इसका अन्त, प्रारंभ, या वह आधार ही मन-बुद्धि इन्द्रियों आदि की पकड़ में आ पाता है, जो इसे बनाये रखता है ।  इस अत्यन्त दृढ़ और उलझी हुई जड़ों वाले अश्वत्थ को असङ्गरूपी शस्त्र से काटकर, ...

Chapter 15, shloka 3,


na rUpamasyeha tathopalabhyate
nAnto na chAdirna cha sampratiShThA |
ashvatthamenaM suvirUDhamUla
MasangashastreNa dRuDhena chhittvA ||

Meaning : It is not possible to find out The real character and form of this ashvattha-tree* (the Indian Banyan, the holy-fig tree), which has strong entangled roots, has no beginning, nor the end, and neither there is any firm and stable ground to support and keep it secure.

3.This is the mathematical way of treating the indescribable. Where the 'unknown' is kept 'undefined'. One can see a parallel of this approach in the Advanced Mathematics of this-day also, where some basic and fundamental elements have been left 'undefined'. An honest and humble acceptance and assertion that the doubt persists and really, we don't know.
