आज का श्लोक,
’श्रुतिपरायणाः’ / ’śrutiparāyaṇāḥ’

’श्रुतिपरायणाः’ / ’śrutiparāyaṇāḥ’ - ध्यान और श्रद्धा सहित श्रवण करनेवाले,

अध्याय 13, श्लोक 25,

अन्ये त्वेवमजानन्तः श्रुत्वान्येभ्य उपासते ।
तेऽपि चातितरन्त्येव मृत्युं श्रुतिपरायणाः॥

(अन्ये तु एवम् अजानन्तः श्रुत्वा अन्येभ्यः उपासते ।
ते अपि च अतितरन्ति एव मृत्युम् श्रुतिपरायणाः ॥)

भावार्थ :
[पूर्वोक्त श्लोक 24 में कहा गया, ...
उस परमार्थ / परमात्म तत्त्व को कुछ लोग ध्यान के द्वारा देख पाते हैं, कुछ आत्मा में अर्थात् अपने ही भीतर आत्मा से ही, तथा अन्य साङ्ख्य-योग से (पुरुष-प्रकृति की विवेचना के द्वारा), जबकि अनेक कर्मयोग द्वारा, किन्तु दूसरे, ...]
इसे न जाननेवाले अन्य भी दूसरों से इस तत्त्व के बारे में सुनकर भी इसकी प्राप्ति के लिए प्रयास में संलग्न हो जाते हैं । और वे श्रुतिपरायण, श्रद्धा और ध्यानपूर्वक सुननेवाले भी अवश्य ही मृत्यु का अतिक्रमण कर जाते हैं अर्थात् भव-सागर से तर जाते हैं ।

’श्रुतिपरायणाः’ / ’śrutiparāyaṇāḥ’ - The listeners, those who listen to with keen attention,

Chapter 13, śloka 25,

anye tvevamajānantaḥ
śrutvānyebhya upāsate |
te:'pi cātitarantyeva
mṛtyuṃ śrutiparāyaṇāḥ ||

(anye tu evam ajānantaḥ
śrutvā anyebhyaḥ upāsate |
te api ca atitaranti eva
mṛtyum śrutiparāyaṇāḥ ||)

Meaning :
(In the last śloka 24 of this chapter we read :
Some see This Reality by way of meditation (attention) to it, another try to find out the same by themselves as ever-present within their own Heart. While few others attain This by way of deduction of  puruṣa and prakṛti as is shown in sāṅkhya, ..)
Yet, there are a few who reach This Reality by hearing only the words of the Realized either through scriptures or by oral teachings. And they to cross-over the ocean of death and attain the Being Immortal.
