आज का श्लोक, ’सक्ताः’ / ’saktāḥ’

’सक्ताः’ / ’saktāḥ’ - आसक्त, लिप्त,

अध्याय 3, श्लोक 25,

सक्ताः कर्मण्यविद्वांसो यथा कुर्वन्ति भारत ।
कुर्याद्विद्वांस्तथासक्तश्चिकीर्षुर्लोकसङ्ग्रहम् ॥

(सक्ताः कर्मणि अविद्वांसः यथा कुर्वन्ति भारत ।
कुर्यात् विद्वान् तथा असक्तः चिकीर्षुः लोकसङ्ग्रहम् ॥)

भावार्थ :
हे भारत (अर्जुन)! अज्ञानीजन जिस प्रकार से आसक्ति रखते हुए (आसक्ति होने के कारण) कर्म किया करते हैं, विद्वान् (ज्ञानी) को भी उसी प्रकार से, किन्तु आसक्तिरहित होकर, केवल लोक-सङ्ग्रह (लोक-कल्याण हेतु उदाहरण के माध्यम से शिक्षा देने के लिए)  कर्म करना चाहिए ।

Chapter 3, śloka 25,

saktāḥ karmaṇyavidvāṃso
yathā kurvanti bhārata |
kuryādvidvāṃstathāsaktaś-
cikīrṣurlokasaṅgraham ||

(saktāḥ karmaṇi avidvāṃsaḥ
yathā kurvanti bhārata |
kuryāt vidvān tathā asaktaḥ
cikīrṣuḥ lokasaṅgraham ||)

Meaning :
O bhārata (arjuna)!  With a view for the benefit of the whole world and cite an example to teach, One who is though well aware of the Reality (That all action is done by the mutual interaction of the three attributes / guṇa-s of prakṛti only, and Self is never affected, nor participates in any way. and so is unattached from the action) should take part in all actions in the same way as those who are ignorant and prompted by desires and fears engage themselves in various actions.
