आज का श्लोक,
’समता’ / ’samatā’

’समता’ / ’samatā’ - समत्व,

अध्याय 10, श्लोक 5,

अहिंसा समता तुष्टिस्तपो दानं यशोऽयशः ।
भवन्ति भावा भूतानां मत्त एव पृथग्विधाः ॥
--
(अहिंसा समता तुष्टिः तपः दानम् यशः अयशः ।
भवन्ति भावा भूतानाम् मत्तः एव पृथग्विधाः ॥)

भावार्थ : (विगत श्लोक 4 में बतलाए गए बुद्धि, ज्ञान, असम्मोह, क्षमा, सत्य, दम, शम, सुख, दुःख, भव, अभव, भय एवं अभय के साथ साथ...) अहिंसा, समता, तुष्टि, तप, दान, यश / कीर्ति तथा अपयश / अपकीर्ति, इत्यादि समस्त भिन्न-भिन्न भावों का उद्गम् प्राणिमात्र में मुझसे ही होता है ।

’समता’ / ’samatā’ - sense of being equal, sense of being same as others.

Chapter 10, śloka 5,

ahiṃsā samatā tuṣṭis-
tapo dānaṃ yaśo:'yaśaḥ |
bhavanti bhāvā bhūtānāṃ
matta eva pṛthagvidhāḥ ||

(ahiṃsā samatā tuṣṭiḥ
tapaḥ dānam yaśaḥ ayaśaḥ |
bhavanti bhāvā bhūtānām
mattaḥ eva pṛthagvidhāḥ ||)

Meaning : (As described in the previous śloka 4 of this chapter 10, the many different sentiments such as the intellect, wisdom, clarity, forgiveness, truth, control over passions, calming down of feelings like anxiety, envy, greed, ... pleasure and pain, appearance and disappearance as an individual, fear and fearlessness, ...),
compassion (ahiṃsā), harmony (samatā), contentment (tuṣṭiḥ), austerity (tapaḥ), charity (dānam), glory (yaśaḥ), defame (ayaśaḥ), all these also in all beings emerge from Me only, I AM the source of all them.
