आज का श्लोक, ’वर्तेत’ / ’varteta’

’वर्तेत’ / ’varteta’  - व्यवहार करता है,

अध्याय 6, श्लोक 6,

बन्धुरात्मात्मनस्तस्य येनात्मैवात्मना जितः ।
अनात्मनस्तु शत्रुत्वे वर्तेतात्मैव शत्रुवत् ॥

(बन्धुः आत्मा आत्मनः तस्य येन आत्मा एव आत्मना जितः ।
अनात्मनः तु शत्रुत्वे वर्तेत आत्मा एव शत्रुवत् ॥)

भावार्थ :  (आत्मा के स्वरूप को जानकर) जिसने आत्मा के द्वारा अपने मन और देह आदि को जीत लिया है उसके लिए उसकी आत्मा बन्धु ही है । दूसरी ओर, जो आत्मा के तत्व से अनभिज्ञ है, ऐसे अनात्मवादी से उसकी निज आत्मा ही शत्रुवत् व्यवहार करती है ।

’वर्तेत’ / ’varteta’  - deals with, treats,

Chapter 6, śloka  6,

bandhurātmātmanastasya
yenātmaivātmanā jitaḥ |
anātmanastu śatrutve
vartetātmaiva śatruvat ||
--
(bandhuḥ ātmā ātmanaḥ tasya
yena ātmā eva ātmanā jitaḥ |
anātmanaḥ tu śatrutve
varteta ātmā eva śatruvat ||)

Meaning :
(Having realized the truth of Self) one who has conquered his self (body, and mind) by Means of (this awareness of the truth) Self, finds the Self like a brother. On the other hand, one who is ignorant / unaware of (the truth of) Self, his own self (body and mind) treats with him like an enemy.
